The figure would have been much higher if the traffic jam hadn't occured.

1300 users: a little bit slow but the delay is not that noticeable
1700 users: only the home page loaded after a long wait( so that I could see the no. of users browsing the forums),
Beyond 2000 users: even the home page fails to load.

Let me adjust that for you somewhat:

2000 users is great.

15,000 users trying to access the forums all at once and only 2000 actually getting IN is baaaaaaaad.
