Installing things to ubuntu from a usb drive.

So I installed ubuntu to a spare desktop that I had laying around, and I would like to install support for more media types. My problem is that I can't hook this desktop up to the internet for quite some time. Does anyone know how I could go about this. Please and thank you.

You can also use APTonCD (http://aptoncd.sourceforge.net/)to install packages from one system to another offline via a CD/DVD
