View Full Version : [ubuntu] checking web page mods using localhost

I am in the process of transferring my web work from windows to ubuntu.
I want to be able to view files in localhost in the ubuntu base from my htdocs folder on an external hard drive.
Can anyone explain how I can handle this?

I have installed xampp in ubuntu and it is working fine.

Not clear what you mean. You want your external harddrive to be called 'localhost'?
