Hi there.
I am trying to install Ubuntu 11.04 64bit (Linux Mint actually) on my new laptop HP DV6 with no luck whatsoever.

Very soon after the computer starts from the CD it throws a black screen on me with the following error:

Loading /capser/vmlinuz.....
Loading /casper/initrd.lz....
Ready.
Kernel panic - not syncing: No mapping iommu for ioapic 0

I am able to launch the compatibility mode but am not sure how to install the system from there.

Please help.

The same thing happened to me, as I was shuffling through settings, while installing linux mint. I just reinstalled it using mint4win and it worked like a charm.

This is extremely cool but I don't need windows at all, and wubi will allow me to install Mint inside windows if I'm not mistaken?
