I've been using, the latest Suse, Gentoo and Ubuntu versions.. And I'm quite dissappointed with Usplash...
So far, Ubuntu is the easiest distro. Though I like everyone ;)
I've installed Gentoo's fbsplash since it was experimental, and Suse's bootsplash (in Gentoo env.) when it was experimental too, I even did it in mi iBook when Gentoo didn't support it.
Then I come to see usplash and, when I tried to hack it, found out that it's much more difficult than fbsplash or bootsplash!... (No comments on the resolution)
So I ask myself (and all of you), why are we using usplash?
I mean, fbpsplash just needs a kernel patch, a theme and some lines in grub/lilo to make it work! And personally, I love when a distro gives me the freedom to change everything I want of it... If I wanted a closed OS I'd buy Winbugs or OSX...
Anyway, right now Ubuntu is my favorite distro, and I'd just like to see better looking art here and around...
