Hi,
I have the same problem, although I don't care too much about match display. On the side note, I never managed to install this game with that commercial version of Wine that is supposedely made exclusively for playing games. Maintainers of Ubuntu Wine package did a great job with the default configuration files.

For me also the same problems, just ignore the xml errors and play with commentary only in matches. In my acutal save i am in the year 2014 and the game still runs fine :KS

Hi,
How did you manage to get FM2006 running in wine. I am using Dapper and the latest win in the repo but can't get it to work.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Why not a native game football manager: http://doc.gwos.org/index.php/Yoda_Soccer 8)

Tsk tsk AI, its football management game, not a football game.
The only FOSS football management game I know of is bygfoot (http://www.bygfoot.com/). It's in the repos...though most, if you're used to CM and the like, will not be that impressed :(
