Samba + Windows ADS + Simplicity?

How do you join a Ubuntu 11.04 machine to an Active Directory Domain and share a single folder over the network?

If anyone has the correct response, you get a cookie, because nothing in the Server Guide or any other web search I've done actually WORKS correctly.

Anyhoo, ADS and Samba setups are nowadays being replaced by web based services like Sharepoint or Knowledgetree, so this Linux/Windows integration issue is mostly going away.
