I've been surfing the forums looking for Ubuntu tshirts that are not white. I've found nothing. So I've tried my own hand and seeing what I can come up with. I'm currently waiting for an email reply from the Ubuntu Logo Trademark Team as to whether they will let me use the logo to do this. I would like to print the Ubuntu logo on either a black or brown tshirt. I would have the big circle in the center, then below it have "Ubuntu - Linux for human beings". Please let me know what you think of this idea. Oh yeah...prices would hopefully be somewhere around $15-$20, depending on quantity ordered and shipping costs. If you have any advise as to the average Ubuntu user's size, let me know (S, M, L, XL). I will update this with the reply from the trademark team.

Awesome...someone replied quick before I went to bed tonight. :) If I can get this approved by the trademark team, I am really serious about trying to get this setup. I've seen several other threads where people start this, then they just stop replying to their thread. If possible, I would like to setup just a little store on my website just to people can use paypal to order from me.

If you do decide to go ahead I have two personal preference suggestions to put out there
1- i would use a much darker brown and think it would look 100% better
2- I would put a small ubuntu logo on the front breast, or else maybe the word ubuntu, and put the aforementioned logo on the back. Huge frontlogo shirts have always turned me off.

Please don't take this as any sort of criticism, i'm simply giving ideas! Let me know if you get around to doing this...and also - what country?

I know the OP wanted non white shirts but for anyone else here is the offical ubuntu store (http://www.cafepress.com/ubuntushop/) linked from www.ubuntu.com. Also note that some of the profit from the offical store goes to ubuntu.

OP would some of your profit go to ubuntu?

Okay, I'm back, sorry it's been so long. I did get approval to use the logo as long as I don't modifiy it in any way. Now to answer a few questions:

- I would be shipping from the USA, Kansas to be exact.
- I could do the small front logo and larger back logo, I kind of like that idea, but it would cost more. Can I get people's opinions on which they would prefer? And actually, after seeing this (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v726/absinthius/2005-07-12-paul-kubuntu.jpg) I like that design a lot. If anyone has other suggestions, please let me know, I may have to make some kind of poll or something.
- I don't have any direct connection to Ubuntu to share my profits from the shirts, but if anyone wants to fill me in with information on how I would do that, I'd be happy to contribute.

As of right now, it looks like I would maybe order a handful of Mediums and a handful of Larges as those, so far, seems to be the most requested. Once I get a little more info about this from you guys, I will get everything else setup. As I believe I said in my first post, I'd like to just make a little webstore so you can order with Paypal. I guess if anyone is desperate enough, I could order early (between the time I figure out which design to go with and getting a store setup), and just do a direct paypal transfer and I will ship to you. I don't recommend that, but hey, you may want that shirt REALLY bad.

I would prefer the big back logo and small front logo, but even what you have so far would be awesome.

Let me know if you ever go for extra large.. I don't think all 250lbs of me will fit in a large.

I like the "GIMPed" sign behind him (looks like son of Ubuntu).

Do you know the prices yet (I didn't see any above, I might have missed them)?

Also, to share profits with Canonical, the best way would be to make a donation ( http://www.ubuntu.com/donations )

Very nice! I might want to get one (I live in Overland Park), depending on these two issues:

1: Can you get them in 2xl or 3xl?
2: What about splitting it up so that it's just the symbol on the front, and the text on the upper back?

To answer a couple people:
- I currently live in Emporia.
- Prices would vary around $15, depending on the quantity I would have to order.
- And to the inquiry about 2XL and so on - that may be stretching it a little (heh, sorry), no actually, the prices are higher for anything over XL from the place I'm looking at getting shirts. There is a local place here in town that I'm told does screen printing, so I need to check them out. I will update prices and selection later on.

However, I was just sent a link to HERE (http://fridge.ubuntu.com/node/484) and it seems as if we might have a chance to get better t-shirts directly from the folks at Ubuntu. I guess for now, I will wait to see what comes of that before I start doing my shirts. Let's hope they come up with something good. I'm only seeing the options to get black or white shirts from them though. So even after they come out with a cool design, I may have to go ahead and do brown shirts for anyone who wants them. Just bare with me and hold tight until we see what comes of that. Then I will go from there. Thanks for the interest I've received from you all.
