Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows how to install linux on a modded xbox, this is a normal xbox not a xbox 360. if more xbox information is needed please post and i can reply.

AFAIK. Xbox linux is the only version with a kernal for xbox. Google it.

I've been using linux on my xbox (legacy) for a while now. It's great fun. XBMC is one of the greatest open-source product's I've ever tried. If you have avalaunch you can install it from there.

Xebian and Gentoox are great for an OS on the box. Download the image, boot up, and considering you have modded already, you should be able to install from the live environment. I can't recall the install commands though. You may not be able to play CD-R's, depending on which DVD-ROM drive you have. I couldn't, had to use CD-RW's.
