I wonder how it'll look when you're 75.

I kid, I kid.

this inspired me to take a look at google images for linux tattoos.

you would be surprised (or not) at what people have.

I want to thank everyone for their wonderful comments. to answer some questions.

how it will look when I am 75, well to be honest I hope I don't live to be that long, and second if I do I don't think I am going to care or remember enough about it to care. lol

the question about why, well why not. it looks neat and on a plus side if someone ask what OS I use I can just roll up my sleeve and point.

This appears to be a double post.

Thanks.

Please don't create multiple threads on the same subject, I have merged your two threads.

Well, I think you just out-geeked a lot of us on here!
And hey, when you are 75, and the whole world is running Ubuntu 65.04, they will want your arm in the local museum!

Proving once again that tattoos are permanent reminders of temporary emotions.

LOL I wouldnt get a Tattoo of any OS I use. It falls under the same category as girl tattoos. Soon as you get one done then you move on to other ones.

BTW, Fedora has been asking about you!

ha! sweet, man!
I like it! Thanks for sharing. :) <3

"why?"

Why not?

Because he wanted to, that's why..
Same reason people get the apple logo , or anything else that they love ; tattooed on themselves.

But this is far cooler than an apple logo or something. lol :D

What happens if Ubuntu goes under? Or if they change their logo?

I figure once (if) ubuntu dies off I will make the tattoo into a memorial tattoo for the death of the OS

my last post was about if they go under.

but if they change their logo, I will either find a way to integrate the new logo into their old, or I will just stay old school and keep it as is.

What if they do something to make you come to hate Ubuntu?

kinda goes under my last couple post, most tattoos can be changes or integrated into something else as long as you have a imagination and money.

Yup, the removal surgery is even getting cheaper. I was going to get Timon(the meerkat in my avatar) but I tan so easily that different colors would come and go during the seasons.

that's pretty cool. i just hope you did that for yourself not for others or to prove something to someone. that's the most important thing about tattoos in the end.

Nothing wrong with being reminded of a particular time in your life.

I would probably go for a Tux tattoo over a Ubuntu tattoo personally. I know I will be using Linux for some time to come, but I know I won't be using Ubuntu forever.

Either way, cool tattoo man.

First thing that popped into my head.

Also, while I think getting an Ubuntu tattoo is ok if you're super into it, getting a tattoo with a URL in it is fail.

I wouldn't get anything technology related done myself, it all changes too quickly. In 20 years time Linux might have gone the way of the dinosaurs, who knows?

Personal imagery that represents a time of your life is fine, but I think getting a corporate logo tattooed on you is a bit odd. But hey, it's your skin so it doesn't really matter what I think.

The advantage with going for the base 'ubuntu' tattoo is that you have the option of converting to 'xubuntu' or 'lubuntu' in the future, by just having one extra letter inked in.
