View Full Version : Gnome 3 Shell Select windows on pointer hover

Hello everyone, I've been using Gnome 3 (Shell) for a week now, on Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot.

A few bugs here and there, some major crashes, a great user experience... But I got a problem:

On the new Gnome Shell Desktop, whenever you have more than one window opened the selected one will always be the one your pointer is hovering. I'm not much of a mouse/pointer user, I rely a lot on my keyboard shortcuts and stuff so I rarely know where the pointer is XD

The problem with that is, whenever I open Gwibber (for example) and then open an Empathy window and want to chat with my friends, nothing happens, because since the pointer stills on the Gwibber window, Gwibber stills as the active window, even if I Alt+Tab'd to Empathy's Window to reply to someone.

I would like to know how can I set Gnome Shell not to keep the hovered window as selected. Does anyone know how to do it?

Hope I was clear enough, I tried many options around the desktop settings and whatever, but couldn't find anything.

See you people o/
