View Full Version : [ubuntu] Gateway C-140x Tablet - Screen Rotate Button
September 4th, 2011, 04:10 PM
I am fairly new to Linux been playing around with it for about a month or two. I installed ubuntu v10.04 on my Gateway C-140x tablet convertible. On the screen portion of the laptop are buttons. The left side has 4 buttons (screen rotate, lock screen, and two others that were customizable in windows). I would like to be able to use at least the screen rotate button in linux, but I don't know how to configure it. Also, is there a way to get an on screen keyboard that I can use with the stylus? Any help or suggestions is much appreciated!! Thank You!

Welcome to Ubuntu forums!
For a tablet PC you should look at CellWriter (has onscreen keyboard mode), Xournal, and EasyStroke.
The buttons depend on whether you can detect key codes from them. See the Rotation HOW TO (http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=6274392&postcount=1) for some more information. Things changed with Lucid and I haven't quite finished figuring everything out. But there should be clues there that are helpful.
