Hi. When i try to start iTunes in wine it gives me windows error message 126? What does This mean?

I believe it means that it was not installed correctly. Itunes is finicky in Ubuntu and I would suggest using a native Linux media player. Try Amarok or Banshee.

Or you could try downloading iTunes 7.2--

My first try, I got the QuickTime player installed, with a working icon on my desktop-- I _do_ agree that iTunes is finicky in Ubuntu-- iTunes still won't install for me, but (per the other site) iTunes 7.2 is 'known to work with Ubuntu.'

Yes but i need it for my iPad, i want to upgrade to ios 5 when it comes out.

YOu might want to take a look here for an alternative.

Or use a Virtaul machine possibly www.virtualbox.org

i was able to work around a similar problem with installation, cannot remember how. but even after i got itunes installed it would not read any of the music and the whole program would freeze. its one of the reasons i eventually dealt with just dual booting.
