View Full Version : [ubuntu] Can't play videos unless thumnail has loaded

I will be very brief: I have some episodes of one of my favourite anime series on my computer, in my home folder, in the videos folder. Unfortunately, Nautilus won't load the thumnails for any of them, save one. None of the videos play, except that one. Therefore, I will conclude that Ubuntu (or at least Movie Player, haven't tried any other program, such as VLC) can't play videos until the process that loads the thumnails is done.

Does anyone know how to either fix this or speed up the thumnail loading process?

I think I get to post again if there aren't any replies after a day, right? Well, it's been two.

Installing VLC worked. However, I would like to know why MPlayer couldn't play the videos ('cept one). Perhaps I'll submit a bug report and close this thread... but I'll leave it open for another two days, in case anybody has any idea.
