left channel audio only

Hopefully someone can help quickly here -

I am a Linux noob on studio ubuntu 11

I suddenly have only left channel stereo working, both left and right were previously working - fully functional in windows XP

soundcard is Terratec DMX6Fire (ICE1712)

In Envy24 mixer I can see stereo input (from spdif coax) but only the left channel is output

I also only get the left chn if I test speakers in system, preferences, sound preferences - hardware tab speaker test

I've looked everywhere I can think of for a chn switched off but can't find anything immediatlely obvious

I did some updates yesterday, may be connected - how do I roll back?

Any ideas?

I really need stereo asap on this machine - it contains a midi session that I need to output and record down to audio on another machine - I need this for my wedding in a couple of weeks!! ](*,)

Hi Lidex,

Thanks but I have restored my right channel now through exessive fiddling! - All I did was bring the right channel analogue fader in Envy24control (which was in the correct position) all the way down & back to its starting position.

I'm guessing this reset something elsewhere - I'd really like to know which setting/control tho, Grrr!
