I have an HP All-in-one (Photosmart C4795) connect to my Windows XP system. I have no problem printing via my network to the printer from my UBUNTU 10.04 box but I am not able to scan directly from the C4795 to UBUNTU. I have to scan to my Windows XP PC first and then import (COPY)the image(s) to UBUNTU. It's not a real big deal, I just need to know if there is away to avoid doing this???

I have the latest hplip installed. I cannot load a newer version of UBUNTU due to system limitations. My UBUNTU box is an old IBM A20 Type 6269-M2U with an intel P3 667Mhz CPU, 384 Megs RAM and 10 Gig hard drive which is just about max out with 10.04.

Thanks

Hi,

Have a look at this - https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HpAllInOne#Networked_Scanner

Apparently if you run hp-setup as described earlier in the article then the mentioned steps won't be required but following them might still fix the issue for you...

Good luck
