i am new to the linux world. Have been playing with ubuntu for a week now. i have installed ubuntu alongside xp. yesterday i though of giving kubuntu a try so tried it thru a usb mount. after i shut down kubuntu i am not able to boot up ubuntu.(xp is working fine). whenever i try to boot ubuntu it stops in a black screen which just says "ok".then i tried loading ubuntu from usb but i am getting "boot error".(the usb is working fine on other pc)
how can i get into ubuntu again? please help me out on this

i doubt that happened from just booting kubuntu were there any programs removed/installed/updated before you turned it off to boot the usb
does recovery mode work?
i assume you did not edit anything in ubuntu when kubuntu was booted (you would know if you did)
can you boot a ubuntu cd?
