Hi All,

Very new to Ubuntu and loving it. Took me two attempts to install Ubuntu and now I've lost the main password I used during initial setup and I was wondering if someone knows how to get into recover mode other than the suggestion I found here to get the lost password.

If I follow these steps my machine will not kick into recovery at all.

Thanks! :)

Welcome to the forum.

That link is what is usually posted for people in your situation. It's most unusual not to be able to boot into recovery mode. What happens? Do you see the grub menu? Do you get an error message? Do you not see the second options menu?
