Hello everyone, i recently decided to buy a Dell vostro 1710 off one of my friend for 125$ dollars. So i installed ubuntu 11.04 on it and everything went wll EXCEPT, wireless net work is not responding. The Network is not showing any \networks even though i have my work computer right next to it and its picking up my "Home Wifi" just fine. Any help would be appreciated thank you all in advanced have a nice day.

It is most likely running a broadcom wifi card. in terminal type

lspci

then post back here which card is listed in the results so that people here can assist you OR you can take that info and search these forums and/or google to see how others have gotten your particular model card working

Thank you, but now the touchpad is not working. I hooked up a USB mouse so i could use it but i was wondering if there is a fix for this. I searched for third party drivers and i could not find any.
