View Full Version : [ubuntu] Unity desktop not available

I am not getting unity desktop even though my graphics card is perfectly compatible with 3D applications (call of duty mw2). i have downloaded a linux driver which is a .run file but i dont know how to install it .:confused:

My sys config:
intel c2d E4500 @ 2.2 GHz
intel 946GZ chipset
nvidia geforce 210

Welcome.
Install the nvidia driver with System=>Admin=>Additional drivers
Do not use the nvidia.run script.

you disn't need to download the linux driver from the nvidia site..

system > administration > additional drivers
turn on the driver, and reboot.

i m having low net speed and is a novice in linux. so dont know how. i ll try that but my net speeds is very low. so i downloaded it from a nearby pc and copied it.:(

I had the same issue when i installed 11.04 by installing the nvidia driver as advised above it worked.
