1. installing dde client through synaptic wouldn't work. But was able to run harry potter spell to install it through terminal.

2. I need config to auto update dyndns.dk (not flakey opendns.com, which I rejected.)

3. The windows opendns updater refuses to work as advertised. The gui detects ip change and allows me to update and status reports updated. However, porn still unblocked. I need to use this service. But I don't know a. why updating doesn't carry over default settings for new ip, and b. how do I auto start the dde client on bootup, or do I need to do this at all?

4. are '' needed around username or pw?

5. why is no gui to obviate these questions and bring to masses?

my config:
# Configuration file for ddclient generated by debconf
#
# /etc/ddclient.conf
