I just installed Mint 11 (Ubuntu 11.04) on both my desktop (64-bit) and laptop (32-bit). The laptop is working fine, but the desktop has a few problems with the panel. The desktop no longer shows the update manager status, and Giver doesn't close to the panel. Giver is still running even though it doesn't show in the panel. I did try uninstalling/reinstalling, but that didn't fix the problem. Thanks for any help.

Here is my laptop:

Hi, you would probably get better help on the mint forum, since there are more people over there that run mint then on the ubuntu forum.

I did, but the Ubuntu forum has a lot more users and activity than that one. From what I've read, the two distros are very similar, so fixes on one should work on the other.

Solved. I'm not sure why, but the Notification Area got removed from the panel. I added it back, and everything works.
