I totally discarded windows after using ubuntu, 4 months ago.
And I've been in haven. Windows is so f.. difficult to use.
But happness isn't always here. I'm a web developer and sometimes have to develop some stuff on Macromedia Flash, wich I think is a powerfull software, with some great features and possibilities.

I couldn't find yet a way of using it on Ubuntu. Codeweavers and Wine don't support the latest version. Using vmware is not possible because I don't have a powerfull machine.

If there are any flash programmer here, tell me. How are you doing with this problem?

Thanx! :-D

have you actually tryed using vmware? you'll be supprised at how quick it is. you might need to invest in some more ram if you have a small ammount (anything under 256mb really...) but ram is pritty cheep these days.

Well... I use a vmware workstation devoted entirely to macromedia's studio tools... the key to vmware - when you're wanting to run it on your linux PC and not on a workstation, is to give it a little breathing room (say, 2-4Gb of space) as much as *HALF* of your total ram available, and strip down Windows XP to it's bare bones before installing Flash.... and make sure to run it at one or two resolution sizes smaller than your screen - and it should be snappy.

You don't need a powerful machine to run vmware, you just need to know the tricks to get it to run smoothly on a less-powerful PC. :)
