Greetings all,
I`ve recently made the switch from Windows 7 to Ubuntu 11, and I have to say, I couldn`t be more pleased. The system feels more responsive and I can do everything I used to do on Windows. I may set up a dual boot in future, but right now I`m more than happy with the system as is.
Only a few minor problems on the system through, mainly the fact that I`m limited to a maximum resolution of 1024x768. On the Windows setup, I had a resolution of 1600x1200.
I`ve downloaded and enabled the proprietary drivers from the Additional Drivers menu. I`m a bit of a Linux Novice, but I`ve read up on the forum, and I tried to edit the xconf file, but this appears to be blank.
Can anyone please point me in the right direction ? Graphics Card is a Ge-force 8800GTX, and I`m on Ubuntu 64bit.
