View Full Version : [ubuntu] Better alternative to Transmission?

I'm tired of trying to get Transmission to cooperate. All I'm trying to do is be able to remotely control Transmission on my desktop over my home network via the web interface. The web interface worked once, and never again. I tried installing the daemon, but when I tried to edit or run it in terminal with any options
transmission-daemon -ait just kept giving me the man page. (I was trying to add my ip address to the list) I try my best to work on this kind of stuff, but this one's outta my league, and all the tutorials on the web were old.

Any better torrent clients?

I forgot to add that I tried nmapping the desktop computer and it said something about the host not responding. Before it showed that the port for Transmission was open.

Starting Nmap 5.21 ( http://nmap.org ) at 2011-07-31 15:18 CDT
Note: Host seems down. If it is really up, but blocking our ping probes, try -PN
Nmap done: 1 IP address (0 hosts up) scanned in 3.21 seconds
