Min space requirement?

Hi-
I'm new to Ubuntu. What is the minimum space I need to have in order to install Ubuntu on my MacBook Pro (version 10.6.8)? I've provided my space details and hardware specs below. Thanks!

Quick Background details:
I want to do a dual boot (i.e., Mac OS 10.6.8).

Current space:

Capacity : 249.72 GB
Available : 114.32 GB
Used : 135.4 GB

compared to mine yours is a space shuttle! :D

Thanks, but it looks like that link is for version 7 and I want to install Ubuntu 11.4. How much should I partition? From this https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/SystemRequirements it looks like it should be about 5GB, but this seems to be more Windows users, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference in terms of partitioning space. Is 5GB a good amount of partition? Thanks.
