View Full Version : [ubuntu] No Sound at all

On the top right is shows muted but i cannot unmute. It was working before but i was trying to get icefilms to work but now i don't have neither icefilms working nor sound. If anyone can help I will greatly appreciate it. Even through team-viewer if its easier.Thanks

not even the videos saved on my computer play correctly.

It sounds like a configuration problem, have you checked the sound preferences menu to make sure the right hardware and outputs are selected?

Yea a bunch of times. There's even times where I can't even unmmute.

Alright its been weeks for me without sound and I can not for anything in the world figure it out. Someone atleast tell me how to reset everything without having to use the CD.Video's nor Audio works so i have no choice. I've looked all through the forums also.Just tell me how to reset all settings please.

just spent a few hours there and nothing. Can someone just connect with me through teamviewer and help me please. Ubuntu has made a grown man want to cry.

go into a terminal and type in

alsamixer

then make sure everything is turned up, sometimes an update or a program mutes all the sound, thats always the 1st thing u should try when it comes to sound issues

no sound and videos dont play with any video player on computer.youtube does not even open now with your guide.....

Reboot, try Sound Troubleshooting again, and reboot again.
