What a dorky thing to have for my first post on here (I'm a total troll, sorry... ^_^ ), but I finally got the CD's I order forever ago in the mail today, and I'm SO HAPPY about it! I stopped like, 5 people in my apartment complex walking back from the mailboxes and handed out CDs. =)

Yeah, I'm a geek... I was *real* popular in high school. ;-)

LOL, actually, I was *fairly* "cool" in high school... A sort of, er, social butterfly, if you will... But, I've always been a computer nerd... Hell, I wrote my first prog (albeit in Apple Basic) when I was 8 years old. I've been raised around 'em since I was a weee lad. =)

Don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.

I have a reference of true geekdom for you all here:
I was at a computer conference once, and the guys I was with whipped out pictures of their computers that they had in their WALLETS. Yes, it was like watching a bunch of new mothers show off baby pictures...

It was so stinking cute and geeky at the same time. I think I tripped over the duct-taped cord strip on the floor I was laughing so hard.

That just brings up all kinds of bad mental images...
"OOOOH BABY... Did you see the specs on that?!"
"I wouldn't mind installing that CPU! Wink wink nudge nudge!"

I don't know whether to laugh at the silliness of that thought...

Or cast a downward, sheepish glance cuz I've had thoughts not too dissimilar...

Vielen Danks for the welcome, although I think it should have come... oh... Oh yeah, most likely back in 7th grade when, for the final project in a computer programming (again, this being with Apple Basic) class, which was supposed to consist of a 200 line program, I turned in a 4500 line text-based (think Zork) RPG.

Yeah, they made me copies of the geekville keys a while ago. ;-)

LOL! They made me keys to geekville in fourth grade when I changed the apple basic math test program to give me anywhere between 97-100% on my math tests just for typing in my name. heh.

Nice to know other geeks were as bad as I was. ;)

Yeah, never played sports, and I had a '93 Dodge Shadow. Not big on the sports and cars so much. And BAND oh man band was LIFE back then. What instrument did you play, jdodson? I played trumpet (and I've heard all the trumpet player jokes, not to mention the other instruments, so if you make one, prepare for retaliation ;)). So I was the band geek. The only people I ever dated in high school were other band geeks, and I'm marrying one of them in June. She played baritone. I never REALLY got into computers in high school, since I got my first PC at the beginning of my senior year, 1998 (I got that year wrong when we were talking last night, kassetra), though I did always go in early to play nibbles and gorillas on the pcs before school started.
