I am trying to install a Verizon USB wireless aircard on an older Dell desktop computer.

Have Ubuntu/lucid installed on the Dell.

When I go in to add a mobile broadband connection in network manager, when I get to the listing of mobile broadband ISPs, there is only about 6 providers in the listing and it does not include VERIZON, which is the one that I need. I have tried just adding it as a manual entry but when I do that the connection always fails.

But when I go into the network manager on my other computer (one I built myself), which is also running Ubuntu/lucid, the ISPs provider listing includes about 15 to 20 providers in the listing, one of which is VERIZON and when I configure a Verizon mobile broadband on that computer the connection works every time.

Why does the listing have only 6 ISPs on the Dell and about 20 ISPs on my other computer ???

Thanks.
