I've just run a hard disk benchmark in Ubuntu and have got the following results for my hard disk:
Minimum read rate: 673.3 kB/s
Maximum read rate: 90.5 MB/s
Average read rate: 63.9 MB/s
The graph also shows several massive drops from the peak rate.
The SMART analysis also shows the following warnings:
Reallocated sector count: 4784207 sectors
Current pending sector count: 246 sectors
Doesn't look good eh?
