Hi,

If i run software centre from the desktop i just get a greyed out box with nothing visible at all. If i run sudo software-centre from terminal it starts fine and is usable.

ive tried a apt-get clean and autoclean as well as an update and upgrade.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks
Damian

Which version are you running?

I have seen a similar problem in Oneiric, but it is "normal" since it is still alpha, after a few update+upgrades it worked again.

Please have a look at this earlier thread:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1705026

If this doesn't solve your issue, please run "software-center" without "sudo" in the Terminal and post any error messages if you get any.

Btw., please see this article regarding running graphical apps with root rights, as with "sudo", you can possibly screw up your profile:

Greetings.

HI,

I'm running 11.10 with latest updates on a HP/Compaq Mini 110c

Strange thing though, afterseeing some other comments online about a restart fixing the issue and restarted the machine a couple of times again and it seems to have cleared itself.

Most odd but one to keep an eye on

Thanks for the infor guys
