okay, first of all: :guitar:
I'm a relative noob to linux, having popped back and forth between windows and various distros. I always go back because I dont have to work hard to make my system (Thinkpad x100e) function the way I want.
I'm having a pretty big problem with overheating, power consumption, and just generally running hot to the point of unpleasantness. APM and ACPI are functional, but I think the problem lies more with the voltage, and I can't find any resources that can help me take it down a notch.
im on 11.04 , 2.6.38-10-generic
AMD Athlon(tm) Neo Processor MV-40
1595.815 MHz
512 KB
any help would be greatly appreciated
