There's also a Christian remix and a Buddhist one (which is actually not Ubuntu anymore - Xfce, Debian, very fast), pro'lly lots of others. I could change my Xubuntu wallpaper and theme and release a remix of my own "just for dancers." Maybe call it "Dixiebuntu!"

You may use the trademark as long as the changes are minimal.


We recognise and encourage the concept of a “remix.” Remixes are derived versions of Ubuntu, and it is intended that any software and hardware certifications will apply to a Remix. Therefore the changes from the official Ubuntu product must be minimal to be permitted to use the Trademarks. These changes can include configuration changes through the existing Ubuntu configuration management tools, changes to artwork and graphical themes and some variance in package selection. Omygosh, the first time I saw that "daemons" were installed on my Ubuntu, there was a moment - just a fleeting fraction of a second - where I thought, "Oh noes! DEMONS on my hard drive! Should I take my 'puter to an exorcist?!"

Then my next thought was, "Oh, maybe it's DAEMONS..." but why would the Ferengi put one of their starship commanders in a virtual form on my computer? Damn Ferengi can't be trusted... I wish LCARS was Open Source!"
