Hello.

I have installed Natty on my Dell XPS 14. It has built in JBL speakers. Now, when I try music in Windows 7, all works great. In Ununtu, I can hear all the sounds and music, but audio quality is poor. Also, maximum sound level in Windows appears higher than that of Ubuntu. It seems as if, the full potential of the sound system is not being used. The case is similar with headphones. The case can be compared to that of, a computer without proper video drivers: You can see everything on the screen, but performance is not great. The stuff is distorted and all. I have analogous problem with audio. Here is my lspci output related to audio:

00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset High Definition Audio (rev 06)
02:00.1 Audio device: nVidia Corporation GF108 High Definition Audio Controller (rev a1)
I have already checked and installed the proprietary NVIDIA drivers.
