hello,

using natty, my LCD monitor (LG Flatron w2234s) is detected as a CRT with wrong/low resolution. its native resolution is 1680x1050 but the max detected is 1360 x 768. it only has an VGA connection, so i cant connect it with a different cable/port. trying to force a new resolution with xandr was unsuccessful (xrandr output already sais: Failed to get size of gamma for output default).
the driver is nvidia 270.41.06

please could nybody help me with how to solve this:? im not thatskilled with terminal/xorg configuration. The experimental driver gave me the same results, but if i boot into winXP then monitor works fine.

thanks for all input

Ahoy there.

It sounds like you've tried many things; would you be able to post the output from your xrandr commands, and possibly also xrandr -q?
