Hi this is my first time posting on this forum, I would like to say that I switch to ubuntu in march 2011, just got really frustrated with windows after many years working with it, but that will be another post. I have been wanting to try linux for many years, but was afraid of the learning curve, finally this year decided to try linux, after trying a few live distros, i read in another forum about ubuntu, and how user friendly it was, i decided to try it. at the time it was 10.10, at first did not know what to even do and the terminal (forget about it) but i have to say this forum has great info and the regular posters do know what they are talking about. I have messed up more than a few times and so far i have found the fixes on this forum or i will be guided to another post etc. after four months i fill that i can maneuver my way around. I love that u can type a code or two and "whaalaa" the thing get done. as for some posters that talk about bugs or bad about unity. I know that i don't have the experience that some or most of you have. but my experience so far has been exiting and I love learning computers again. thanks ubuntu Gods and keep up the good work looking forward to the future.
best regards

Yeah the terminal is so much cleaner than using the GUI. Hell I can install something using dkpg before the software center even opens up!

I agree at first didnt know what to wright in it, but reading the posts gives you codes on the project you are working on. for example i have a pretty hard wireless card(broadcom4306)to get a driver for, some of the posters said give up and by a new card, but their was the right post that lead me to the code to wright. I thought it was awesome to be able to tell the OS what to do. and yes a person has to want to explore. If a person just wants the same old windows experience, well they should stay with windows. I like the fact that i have the freedom to do these things without having to worry about a my violating some license law, or having to re-install windows every time it crashes because you did some thing that it did not like, oh and don't forget the re-activation proses.

OH yeah one of the coolest thing is to be able to tweak your set up and then be able to put it on all your computers. I did not know how to act with that.
