I don't know why it's doing this. For no reason at all awhile ago, my whole top panel on my desktop disappeared, including my Network Manager icon, so I had to create a new panel myself. I include the Network Manager Icon as well. And when I click it nothing shows. I click on my browser, says uncheck Offline Mode, I do that and reload the page, but it says I'm disconnected and I don't know how to reconnect. My sister's laptop of which is also running Ubuntu is working just fine, connecting wirelessly to the Internet. If anyone could help me, anything that'll lead the way to fixing this, I'd appreciate it SO much.

Thanks.

Create a new user and log in under the new account. If everything works correctly, check the network manager settings and transfer them to your original user.
It's been a while since I used Ubuntu, but this should get you started.
