Anyone remember 'Masters of Orion'?

Anyone remember masters of orion?.

Well now there is a FreeOrion (http://www.freeorion.org) project starting with a game that will be similar to the orion series. The screenshots look really cool but it seems like it's really hard to compile and get running, i couldn't get it going.. They were working on an autopackage but it doesn't install all the necessecary libraries.

Anyone a master at autopackage? They could probably use some help getting an official package going.

I don't think FreeOrion will be much fun just yet - it's still at an alpha stage of development. The next release (0.4) will be more complete as a game and hopefully easier to install. When it will be released is anybody's guess.

MOM was great fun! Didn't like the 3rd game though. I spent so many nights playing the second game... By the time this project will be done, maybe I'll have the computer to play it! :)

You mean MOO, MOM is Master of Magic :D
Though both are great games that should have their places in Hall of Games 8)
