This is really such a dumb question. I was wondering if there was any way to put a Desktop Button( a button that brings you right to the desktop) on Ubuntu 11.04. Any help would be great!

Here is a tutorial for that. Just so you know, super + d is the keyboard shortcut to show desktop.

Not sure if it will work in Natty, but if you have Compiz installed you can set a mouse movement to the corner to show the desktop by running

sudo gconf-editor
Then apps > compiz > general > allscreens > options then set showdesktop to your desired corner (I have BottomLeft).

That method doesn't work in natty, the link i posted is the only way to add a show desktop button in natty for now.

Cheers for the heads up. I'm staying away from Natty for now, but I thought I'd see if the good ol' maverick method worked for him.

Fantastic, good to hear, one less thing to worry about when I finally give up and shift to Natty. Want to mark as solved?
