I'm still quite new to Ubuntu/Kubuntu but I was wondering if they are in the process of updating IPV6 so it should be ready for when it becomes readily available!

AFAIK IPV6 support has been in Linux for a long time.

Linux has had support for 17 years now (1996) (The first Operating System to support IPv6)

It's funny that people think ipV6 is something new. The roll out of it was put into the too hard basket by network providers even though the major vendors Cisco and Juniper have had support for some time. Now it is being forced with no more ipV4 netblocks to dish out.
