Hi. I have a Lubuntu installed Netbook (Toshiba NB200). When I try to watch a video and listen to music smoothly. So I started the program Audacious on the terminal and I get the following Warning Message:

** WARNING **
Audacious has detected that your ALSA device has a broken timer. A workaround
is being used to prevent CPU overload. Please report this problem to your
Linux distributor or to the ALSA developers.
ALSA lib pcm.c:7316:(snd_pcm_recover) underrun occurred
ALSA lib pcm.c:7316:(snd_pcm_recover) underrun occurred
ALSA lib pcm.c:7316:(snd_pcm_recover) underrun occurred
ALSA lib pcm.c:7316:(snd_pcm_recover) underrun occurred

So what can I do? This is a very annoying problem. Because, I can't listen to any music or watch any video.
Thanks in advance.

... When I try to watch a video and listen to music smoothly.....

Can you describe your problem giving a little more detail?

Audacious does not play videos, so are you running Audacious while also running a video application? (If so, which video application?)

If you run Audacious on its own, do you still get this problem?

I tried to install too many codecs and this caused problem I think. So I installed Lubuntu again. And only added Vlc and Lubuntu restricted extras. And I ran (only) Audacious from the terminal to test if there is any warning message again and this message appears continuously.

ALSA lib pcm.c:7316:(snd_pcm_recover) underrun occurred

But I can listen to music and there seems to be no problem up to now. I hope it goes like this. :D
