View Full Version : [ubuntu] Why do pdf readers use unreadable zooms?

Hey, I use Evince to read books I have saved as pdfs a lot, and I set the zoom to 'fit page width' to make the text large enough to read.

The easiest way to navigate through this stuff is to use the table of contents to go where I want quickly, but each time I do that the zoom is automatically reset to (the ironically named) 'best fit'.

There doesn't seem to be a way to set the default to 'fit page width' (or is there?), so I tried downloading the Foxit reader, which had the same problem, even when I set the default view to 'fit page width'!

I move around these books a lot, so this is extremely annoying!](*,)

Is there a way to change this? If not, is there a pdf reader without this problem?!

Nevermind, I just got a pdf reader called Okular that doesn't have this problem! The zoom doesn't change when you use its table of contents! I'm happy now :D
