Since there are other Wiimote, similar posts, i'm hoping this wont bug anyone it being here.

The problem: Trying to pair the Wiimote causes a prompt for a PIN code which i don't know and can't input because a lack of omnipotence. Does anyone know how to pair these things without being hassled for the pin code or just a way to get it out of the equation totally?

What kills me is that i've combed the net and no one seems to be able to figure out this issue. Is this just some new problem that's appeared with the latest drivers? There seem to be no "how to" posts.

Help, please.

Hi,

There is currently no need to pair with a wiimote in Ubuntu.
All connections to it can be made without pairing.

The only case for pairing it I've seen in Linux is a very recent effort by David Herrmann here (https://github.com/dvdhrm/xwiimote) - which is so new it doesn't exist in (m/)any distributions including Ubuntu.

This (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/CWiiD) or this (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=993376) may assist you in getting your wiimote working in Ubuntu.
- I haven't tested this with Ubuntu 11.04 onwards though, so I could be wrong.
