Need a reliable, steady and trustworthy Programmer for a World of Warcraft website.
- You must be a current World of Warcraft player
- Must know PHP and MySQL
- Must have high-speed DSL or Cable internet connection
- Update scripts when a new patch is released (i.e. Coppermine)
- Know how to handle RSS news feeds
- Able to handle MediaWiki
- Do you know UI/LUA Scripting? (Optional) -- let me know
http://www.blizzplanet.com
The website is already established and has been part of the community since 2002. The website currently focuses on lore, interviews and news. The website is spotlighted often in worldofwarcraft.com, wow-europe.com and battle.net official sites.
Your job is to expand the features of the website through scripts that allow fans to interact more. You would be permanent staff member not just a one time-work-and-goodbye.
The candidate should be a World of Warcraft player to know what the game is about for scripting of useful databases that may be helpful to the community. Post news and add content of World of Warcraft unsupervised. Be motivated to offer info to the community by playing the game and creating content.
This position is volunteer. However, staff member taking this position might get a World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Closed beta and future Blizzard games beta (Based on availability and performance). Blizzard recently revealed (http://www.gamespot.com/news/2006/05/11/news_6150919.html?part=rss&tag=gs_&subj=6150919) to be working on many unannounced games. If you become a long term staff, you might be able to get into one of those games' closed beta. For BlizzCon -- we might get 2-3 free tickets -- in case you wish to go, otherwise it is given away to fans.
You should have enough spare time and really enjoy World of Warcraft and to service the community.
Send me a private message with your chat client and screen name. If you have samples of your work or a resume (in case you have education in the field) post it in the private message too.
Thanks
