Hi ever one,

If I have installed Ubuntu 11.04 is my desktop Gnome???

Probably not - the default desktop you get is Unity. Does that answer your question?

Just logout and from the login screen select Ubuntu Classic, that will give you a Gnome desktop. No need to download anything.

Just a quick note, if you are wanting to install Gnome 3 for any reason, make sure you compile it from source yourself if you know how. Using a PPA or just downloading the packages will break Unity. (Everyone says it will just break Unity, no for me it broke Unity and Gnome, so be careful)
