View Full Version : Mailing List Forum Section Broken?

I've been seeing the same email posted again and again in the Mailing List section, and they bury new real threads pretty fast. Is something wrong with the forum, or is it the same situation in the real Mailing List?

Absolutely not. I only got one email for each of those multiple posts to the forums.

is anyone working on fixing the Mailing List Forum Section? I'm tired of mailing list threads burying real threads that I may be of help... More than half of my search results ("give me posts posted in the last 4 hours" convenience of not having to go to "the advanced search mode") give me useless repetitive mailing list emails... ](*,)

I am also getting this, and finding it highly fustrating!

Every now and then when i go on "View new posts", it lists lots of mailing list threads that are many pages long.
The first 1 sometimes 2 are useful, but the rest are just these same pages over and over....
It really is getting a little annoying.
In fact im gonna get off this pc now, have been here too long...

I think i'll just remove the mailing list forum integration for now until some better code comes along.

It seems the offending spam posts from the mailing list reappear in the "new threads" list here about every ten to fifteen minutes and it is a huge waste of time to sift through them while helping people.

Did it break when the database server was split onto a seperate box?

Is there any way to integrate code for PhPBB to work with vBuletin easily?

It's a crying shame to cut off the connection between two important parts of the community because of a bug that appeared last week.

That code is complete crap we used it before when we ran phpbb.. Before this turns into a flame fest the issue is known and will be fixed hence my post above.

EDIT: This will be re-actived tommorow for testing, I implemented a a db fix and should fix this

I didn't mean it as a flame-fest. I googled around for mailing-list integration software and that seemed to have the biggest community around it - hence a nice juicy target.
