Hi guys,
I have a question about the above RAID card. It shows as supported in several HP ML series servers, although not in the one I'm looking for, the ML350.
My question is this:
Is this a true hardware RAID card? I'm asking because on the CentOS forums they've said it requires some specific drivers, which have been compiled into the kernel, but I thought that true hardware RAID cards did not need OS drivers as they presented to the OS as a single volume. Is it that the driver allows the OS to monitor the RAID array? Or have I missed something very fundamental here?
