I've been using lubuntu for a while now and I was wondering why this hasn't happened yet as it's extremely stable and quick.

I am thinking that is becouse someone else doing this disto.
Is't made by Canonical.

In a way it is official because they have been allowed to use the Ubuntu trademark. It just isn't supported by Canonical (yet).
