Which version of Ubuntu are you using?
Which wirefree card is in the machine?
Have you applied all bug fixes using wired internet access?

And so on and so on...

Have you applied all bug fixes using wired internet access?
And so on and so on...

- Ubuntu 10.10
- LAN - Atheros AR8152
- WLAN - Broadcom BCM 4313

This is a new and clean installation.
I don't have wired neither wireless access.

I cannot make a ping.

I have a dual system in the disck and Windows7 works without problems in both wireless and lan.

I cannot believe it because this laptop is quite popular. Is there some soluton?
Forums are full of problem with this model but I cannot find a clear solution.

In the Ubunt Wiki there is not any information:

In the link you provided there is a description of how to add drivers.

files of opendrivers.com were corrupt in decompression process. I have tried 2 times with same result.
However, finally I have solved the issues updating Ubuntu to 11.04 version. :)

Now all works well except the nvidia ION. Link says:
"To get the Nvidia chip working you would need to figure out how to install/use vga_switcheroo. "

Is there some link with instructions?

Now without install the Nvidia drivers, Firefox is unable to preserve the full screen when seeing videos in Youtube at any resolution. It gives an error with Adobe Flashplayer. Don't know if there is some relation...

thanks for the help,
