You know how it is ... can't leave well enough alone. :)
In this version I adjusted all of the colors in an attempt to add more love and harmony. Adjustments included changing the base background from gray to a light warm brown tint and adding button highlighting.
See screen shots for other refinements.
To test drive.
1. Download Ubuntulooks-Serengeti.tar.bz2 file.
2. Open System>Preferences>Theme
3. Select Human theme
4. Click theme details
5. Drag Ubuntulooks-Serengeti.tar.bz2 to the controls window
6. Select Ubuntulooks-Serengeti as your new control
7. Close
Global Install.
1. Download Serengeti.tar.gz file.
Contents
- inst-docs.txt
- inst-serengeti.sh
- Ubuntulooks-Serengeti.tar.bz2
2. Extract files
3. Run the inst-serengeti.sh (sudo sh inst-serengeti.sh) script to install into usr/share/themes
4. Change gdm.conf file as noted in the inst-docs.txt file
5. Open System>Preferences>Theme
6. Select Human theme
7. Click theme details
8. Select Ubuntulooks-Serengeti as your new control
9. Close
Enjoy!
Note on fonts: I found the DejaVu font to work the best on my system. It provides consistency amoung all my apps including Open Office that I lose with the default Sans font.
BTW, the color depth of my computer is set to 24 and I am unsure how this theme my look at other color depths. If the colors go crazy this is probably the reason.
